Welcome New Businesses

The Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization is actively recruiting quality restaurants, galleries, and shops to be part of the most exciting development opportunity on Cleveland's West Side in decades.

In partnership with Cleveland Public Theatre and Near West Theatre, along with the planned re-opening of the Capitol Movie Theatre, we are fostering a cultural arts district on Detroit Avenue from West 58th to West 70th Streets. We invite you to be part of the new Gordon Square Arts District.  Click here to see what's happening in the Gordon Square Arts District.

The intersection of West 65th Street and Detroit Avenue, historically known as Gordon Square, presents a unique nucleus for the Cultural Arts District because it is the only known intersection on the West Side with all four original buildings still standing. There has been, and continues to be, major investment in property improvements and building renovation. Additionally, Detroit Avenue from West 58th to West 73rd Streets will be part of the Detroit Streetscape project planned to begin this Fall.

Demographically, we are recognized as the most diverse neighborhood at all levels in Cleveland, making our community a rich and vibrant one.

Major developments underway that are contributing to the rebirth of Detroit Shoreway include EcoVillage Cleveland, a national pilot site for urban renewal and urban planning. Battery Park, the 360 unit, market-rate home redevelopment on the former Eveready Battery site has also begun.  Click here for more information about Battery Park.

We will provide you with materials outlining the development opportunities and current commercial space for lease. Terms are attractive, and building owners are waiting with open arms for your tenancy.

Please feel free to contact me at your convenience for a tour of the Cultural Arts District, or to further discuss locating your business in our district.

Consider investing your time and your business in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. We're happy to welcome you.
