This is a community conversation with Cleveland Metropolitan School District to discuss the future of CMSD facilities on the Near West Side.

CMSD is reconsidering its facilities plans because Cleveland’s population patterns have changed and because the independent Bond Accountability Commission has also called for a fresh look at long-term plans for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, citing trends in enrollment and construction costs.

As a result, construction plans for a new school at Marion Seltzer Elementary and reconstruction plans for Gallagher High School may not move forward.

CMSD is holding a series of meetings throughout the City to engage the community by sharing the data that has been compiled, exploring the initial insights that have been generated, and creating opportunities to answer questions about the facts that will serve as the foundation for updates to the Long-Term School Plan.
