Every Saturday a two-mile stretch of Lorain Avenue through Ohio City and Detroit Shoreway puts out a quirky, welcoming vibe for shoppers. Saturdays at Vintage Lorain combines vintage shops, niche restaurants, events and fresh air for an authentically Cleveland experience. Come with a free hand for a beverage, a big bag for finds and an appetite for food.
This linear flea market shares open hours of noon to 5pm on Saturdays across 30+ businesses in the Lorain Avenue Antiques District, W. 38th to W. 80th Streets. Shoppers can look for the Vintage Lorain sidewalk signs and maps. Find furniture, jewelry, décor, bikes and more in this street’s historic buildings. There are dozens of photo ops in between. Plus, all your spending stays in Cleveland at these locally-owned businesses.
On first and third Saturdays, Open Air in Market Square will also add Cleveland Bazaar vendors and live performances to Vintage Lorain. That makes Market Square Park outside the West Side Market a perfect spot to meet up with friends and take them exploring.
You’ll have a guaranteed unique afternoon that requires very little planning. The RTA Red Line has stations on Lorain at both W. 25th and W. 65th. The full length of the Antiques District is a 30-minute walk or a 10-minute bike ride (and UHBikes are available for 12 cents a minute). The RTA’s 22 bus can pick you up every 30 minutes if you need a lift back to where you started. You can also park along Lorain Avenue for free.
